UI GreenMetric is the world's inaugural and most comprehensive ranking system dedicated to environmental sustainability. Established by Universitas Indonesia in 2010.

2013

Water Sustainability — Water conservation and responsible usage metrics integrated into the ranking methodology.

2014-2019

Global Expansion — Participation surges from 301 to 780 universities. The UI GreenMetric Network is established to foster international collaboration.

2020-2021

Pandemic Resilience — Digital adaptation accelerates. Participation exceeds 900 universities despite COVID-19 disruptions.

2022

City Rankings Launch — UI GreenCityMetric introduced for municipal sustainability, starting in Indonesia (Kota & Kabupaten).

2024

Transportation & Diversity — Enhanced criteria for campus transportation, accessibility, and diversity assessment.

2026
