UI GreenMetric Expands Global Outreach Through Last Three Regional Information Sessions for the 2026 Sustainable University Rankings

In a continued effort to strengthen global engagement and encourage wider participation in the UI GreenMetric Sustainable University Rankings 2026 cycle, UI GreenMetric successfully conducted the second batch of regional information sessions on the 23-27th of April, 2026 . Targeting higher education institutions across Europe, the Americas, and the combined regions of Asia, Africa, and Australia, these sessions served as strategic platforms to guide universities in advancing sustainable campus development while preparing for the upcoming rankings submission.

The first session, dedicated to the UK and Europe, was held on April 23, 2026, bringing together institutions from across the region to explore sustainability through governance, digitalization, and integrated performance systems. The session opened with remarks by Dr. Vishnu Juwono, S.E., M.I.A., who emphasized the importance of aligning institutional strategies with measurable sustainability indicators. Presentations by Sabrina Hikmah Ramadianti, S.Si. and Dr. Rahmi, S.Hum., M.Sc. provided participants with practical insights into implementing sustainable governance frameworks and adapting to the latest updates in the 2026 methodology.

Building on this momentum, the second session focused on North and Latin America and took place on April 24, 2026. This session featured opening remarks once again by Dr. Vishnu Juwono, followed by presentations from Dr. Abellia Anggi Wardani, S.Hum., M.A. and Dr. Rahmi. Discussions highlighted region-specific strategies for enhancing sustainability performance, particularly in the context of diverse institutional structures across the Americas. Emphasis was placed on the role of digitalization in tracking sustainability metrics and ensuring data-driven decision-making, both of which are essential components in successfully participating in the 2026 rankings.

The final session in the series was held on April 27, 2026, targeting institutions across Asia, Africa, and Australia. Reflecting the broadest regional scope, this session accommodated multiple time zones and attracted a diverse audience of universities committed to sustainability transformation. As in the European session, Sabrina Hikmah Ramadianti and Dr. Rahmi delivered key presentations, offering detailed guidance on governance models, performance integration, and the application of UI GreenMetric indicators within varied institutional contexts. The session reinforced the importance of contextual adaptability while maintaining alignment with global sustainability standards.

Across all three sessions, a consistent message emerged: participation in the UI GreenMetric Sustainable University Rankings is not merely a benchmarking exercise, but a strategic pathway toward institutional transformation. The sessions underscored how universities can leverage the ranking framework to optimize resource management, enhance environmental performance, and integrate sustainability into long-term planning.

Importantly, each session was explicitly positioned as part of the preparation process for the UI GreenMetric Sustainable University Rankings 2026 registration cycle. Participants were guided through key methodological updates, data submission expectations, and strategic considerations necessary to strengthen their institutional profiles within the ranking system.

Through this coordinated global outreach, UI GreenMetric continues to expand its international network, ensuring that universities across different regions are equipped with the knowledge and tools required to actively participate in the 2026 rankings. This initiative not only reinforces UI GreenMetric’s role as a leading sustainability ranking system, but also fosters a more inclusive and collaborative global movement toward sustainable higher education.
