UI GreenMetric Participated in the LLDIKTI Wilayah X 2026 Work Meeting to Advance Sustainable Higher Education
25 June 2026 – The LLDIKTI Wilayah X 2026 Work Meeting brought together leaders from government institutions, higher education, and strategic partners to strengthen collaboration in advancing the quality, innovation, and sustainability of private higher education institutions across the region. The multi-day event featured policy discussions, strategic presentations, institutional awards, and networking opportunities aimed at accelerating the transformation of Indonesia’s higher education ecosystem.
The event officially commenced with a vibrant cultural performance of the Tari Pasambahan, presented by Universitas PGRI Sumatera Barat, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of West Sumatra while warmly welcoming participants from across the region. The opening ceremony was followed by official remarks from Dr. Afdalisma, S.H., M.Pd., Head of LLDIKTI Wilayah X, who presented the institution's annual report and emphasized the importance of strengthening regional academic collaboration and institutional development.
Representing the host province, H. Mahyeldi Ansharullah, S.P., Governor of West Sumatra, highlighted the significant role of local governments in fostering higher education excellence through strategic partnerships and cross-sector collaboration. The opening session concluded with remarks from Prof. Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd., Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, who outlined the Ministry's vision for strengthening downstream innovation by encouraging collaboration among higher education institutions, industry, and regional governments through innovation consortiums.
Following the opening ceremony, a dedicated press conference and panel discussion were held to communicate the key objectives, strategic priorities, and long-term vision of the LLDIKTI Wilayah X Work Meeting to national and regional media. The event also featured the official handover of the Pataka Flag, symbolizing the transition of hosting responsibilities to the next appointed private higher education institution for the Entrepreneurship Award X 2027. The day concluded with the prestigious Anugerah LLDIKTI Wilayah X, recognizing outstanding achievements and institutional excellence among private universities within the region.
One of the key highlights of the Work Meeting was the third session, which focused on institutional strengthening, sustainability, accreditation, and digital transformation. The session brought together experts from various sectors, including representatives from PT. Solusi Identitas Global Net (SIGN), UI GreenMetric, the Directorate of Institutional Affairs, and the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT).
Representing UI GreenMetric was Dr. Vishnu Juwono, S.E., M.I.A., Chairperson of UI GreenMetric. He delivered a presentation on campus sustainability and the growing importance of integrating sustainable practices into university governance and operations. He highlighted how the UI GreenMetric Sustainable University Rankings framework serves as a global benchmarking platform that encourages higher education institutions to improve environmental performance, strengthen sustainability governance, and contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He also discussed the relevance of sustainability initiatives to the implementation of Indonesia's Key Performance Indicators (IKU), emphasizing that sustainability can support universities in strengthening education, research, innovation, community engagement, and institutional governance.
Through its participation in the LLDIKTI Wilayah X 2026 Work Meeting, UI GreenMetric reaffirmed its commitment to supporting higher education institutions in embedding sustainability into institutional policies and campus operations. The event provided a valuable platform for collaboration among government, academia, and strategic partners, fostering knowledge exchange and collective efforts toward building globally competitive, digitally integrated, and environmentally responsible universities.
