UI GreenMetric Launches Sustainable Corporate Rankings 2026
Jakarta, 14 August 2026 — UI GreenMetric, an initiative of Universitas Indonesia, officially launched the UI GreenMetric Sustainable Corporate Rankings 2026 during a Grand Launching event at the Main Hall of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), Jakarta.
Held with the support of PT Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI), the event brought together representatives from academia, the capital market, ESG practitioners, reviewers, and corporate stakeholders to discuss the evolving role of sustainability disclosure in the corporate sector.
Under the theme “When AI Reads ESG: Transforming Public Disclosure into Verified Sustainability Insights,” the launch explored how the growing ability of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to read and analyze public information is changing the way ESG disclosure can be understood.
From ESG Disclosure to Verified Insights
As AI becomes increasingly capable of processing corporate information, the quality of publicly available ESG data is becoming more important. Information needs to be clear, consistent, traceable, and supported by credible evidence.
The UI GreenMetric Sustainable Corporate Rankings 2026 responds to this development by combining technology-assisted analysis with an assessment approach that continues to emphasize data, evidence, and verification.
“Companies cannot rely solely on sustainability claims. What is increasingly needed is information that is credible, transparent, and verifiable,” said Dr. Vishnu Juwono, S.E., M.I.A., Head of UI GreenMetric, Universitas Indonesia.
Connecting Academia, Capital Markets, and Business
The launch featured a discussion titled “Is Your ESG Disclosure AI-Ready? What AI Can Read and What Companies Must Verify,” bringing together academic and practical perspectives on ESG disclosure in the era of AI.
The session featured Dr. Toto Pranoto on ESG as a corporate strategy and sustainable value creation, and Prof. Desi Adhariani, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D. on strengthening accountability and traceability in ESG reporting. The discussion was moderated by Dr. Abellia Anggi Wardani, S.Hum., M.A.
The event continued with a practical workshop, “From AI Suggestions to Verified Submission,” delivered by Rahmi, S.Hum., M.Sc., Ph.D. from UI GreenMetric. The session introduced participants to the process of preparing structured and verifiable information for the Sustainable Corporate Rankings.
While AI can support the identification and interpretation of information, the workshop emphasized that data quality, evidence, and verification remain essential in producing credible sustainability insights.
Strengthening Corporate Sustainability Practices
The launch also provided an opportunity to introduce the Sustainable Corporate Rankings to stakeholders within Indonesia’s capital market ecosystem.
Representing BEI was Irvan Susandy, Director of Trading and Exchange Member Regulation, while Ringoringo H. Achmadi, S.E., M.Sc., Director of Business Unit Management and Development at Universitas Indonesia, represented Universitas Indonesia.
The collaboration reflects the growing importance of strengthening sustainability practices and disclosure across the corporate sector.
For UI GreenMetric, the Sustainable Corporate Rankings are not intended merely as a recognition mechanism. The rankings can also serve as a reflection and improvement tool, helping companies understand the quality of their sustainability practices and disclosure while identifying opportunities for further development.
Expanding UI GreenMetric’s Sustainability Mission
Launched by Universitas Indonesia in 2010, UI GreenMetric has developed into a global sustainability ranking for higher education institutions. Its sustainability initiatives have since expanded to include the UI GreenMetric Sustainable City Rankings and, now, the UI GreenMetric Sustainable Corporate Rankings.
Through these initiatives, UI GreenMetric continues to promote a data-driven and evidence-based approach to sustainability across different sectors.
